Hello!
My name is Tonya, and I live and work in the suburbs of Chicago. In addition to photography, I have a deep love for traveling, which beautifully complements my creative work.
My journey with photography began in high school, when I first learned to work with black-and-white film. That early experience sparked a deep appreciation for the artistic process's technical and emotional sides. Though my career initially took me in a different direction, my creative spark never faded. In 2010, I rediscovered my passion for photography; since then, it has been a steady source of joy, reflection, and inspiration.
With a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, I spent many years working in the fast-paced, structured world of technology. Photography provides the perfect balance, allowing me to slow down, explore, and capture the often overlooked beauty of nature.
I am particularly drawn to macro and nature photography, where I can focus on the intricate details of the world around us—the textures, patterns, and fleeting moments most people miss. As I approach retirement, I’m excited to dedicate more time to my craft and share my vision and love for nature through my work.
